Board of Directors
Finding Inspiration in Every Turn
The Gardner Valley School charter board of directors embodies the school’s mission. The Charter Board operates consciously to build strong relations among its own members, the students, the staff, the parents and the wider community, ensuring that Gardner Valley School is a community resource and stable institution. The Charter Board celebrates innovation and creativity in its operation.
Jackie Williams
Board President

Being a resident of Gardner for over 20 years, Jackie Williams has witnessed many changes within the community. She has raised two boys with her husband Wayne on the Bar H ranch, where work ethic and morals are instilled. Both boys are married, raising families, and continuing the ranching tradition. Ranching supplies the Williams’ livelihood and intertwines with their hobbies. Growing up, their sons attended Gardner School and were then homeschooled by Jackie. Through the years of her two sons attending Gardner School, she worked at Gardner School as the secretary, a bus driver, and a substitute for various positions. She served on the Gardner School Foundation during the formative years. With the knowledge of Gardner School transitioning into a charter school, she applied to be a part of the school board to help assist future decision-making. She is very invested in the success of Gardner Valley School and in seeing her community thrive.
Amanda Salas
Board Vice-President

Amanda is the mother of three Gardner Valley School students and has been a resident of the Gardner community for the past 9 years. She received her BA in Animal Science from the University of Wyoming. After graduating, she chose to be a stay-at-home mom to raise and care for their three children for the following ten years. Amanda has stayed actively involved at the school in Gardner. Most recently, she sat on the Board of the Gardner School Foundation for the past 7 years and also served as a substitute teacher at the school for 6 years.
Within the last year, she has become licensed and works as a Realtor for Code of The West Real Estate. She feels it is of great importance to stay involved in the community in which she lives, where she and her husband have planted roots for their family. “I want to invest my time and energy in helping our school, the heart of our community, to reach its full potential and to ensure sustainability and achievements are existing and flourishing for many years to come.”

Aaron Capps
Board Treasurer

Hello, my name is Aaron Capps and I have been a resident of Walsenburg for 5 years. I moved here with my wife and four kids so we could raise them in a small community close to family. Currently, all four of our children ages 4, 5, 7 and 12 attend Gardner Valley School. I work as a carpenter in Colorado Springs and my wife is a dedicated stay at home mom that volunteers part time to help with the Pre-K at GVS. I spend most of my time working, so when possible, I try to do as much as I can to be involved with my children's education and the local community. Being on the school board has afforded me that privilege. I enjoy the same things most of us here do like hunting, fishing and generally being outdoors with my family. My wife and I really love this community and are very blessed to call this home.
Andrea Pacheco
Board Director

Hello, my name is Andrea Pacheco. I am the daughter of a teacher and school board members so serving my community is in my blood! I enjoy spending time with my husband and daughter in the outdoors and staying active in my church. I am a southern Colorado native and attended Primero School kindergarten through twelfth grade, another small school in southern Colorado. I then attended Trinidad State College and pursued a career in nursing and I currently work as a nurse here in Huerfano County.
I am passionate about serving my community and volunteer with other groups as often as I can. I look forward to putting Gardner Valley School on the map as the best school in southern Colorado and feel extra lucky that my daughter is able to attend GVS!
