Think about how much the world has changed in the past twenty years. Think about the skills and characteristics beyond academics that children need to successfully navigate these changes. Take a moment and daydream … imagine an educational experience that is not only academically challenging but is exciting and worthwhile as well, a learning experience beyond the classroom walls.
Gardner Valley School is a tuition-free public charter school for preschool to eighth grade, opening in August 2020. The school will provide an educational program as unique as the rural environment we live in with an emphasis on agricultural and environmental sciences. Through hands-on community-based learning, children will develop as independent creative thinkers that practice collaborative problem-solving through the exploration of their unique surroundings. Grounded in the Gardner way of creating an environment where children know they belong, the school community will ensure that each child feels safe and secure to learn.
Enrollment is open. Gardner Valley School will hold its First Enrollment Lottery on June 28, 2020 at 2:00 p.m., at the virtual Charter Board meeting. If more students enroll than there are spaces, the school will choose students by lottery. To enter the lottery, submit an Intent to Enroll form on the Gardner Valley School website no later than June 26, 2020. Parents who have already submitted Intent to Enroll need not do it again. To watch the lottery, click on the streaming link on the Gardner Valley School website. Parents may still enroll their students in the Gardner Valley School after the lottery, if there are spaces available.
